Diamond drilling involves the use of an electric or hydraulic rotary drill motor mounted on a drill rig, equipped with a diamond-tipped core bit to cut through reinforced concrete and other hard construction materials. Our rigs can drill vertical, horizontal, and angled cores and come equipped for any situation of working, bringing our own water source, power, and scaffolding towers so that we can core in the most isolated of areas.
EXAMPLES OF USE
Shepherd & Son’s work closely with contractors to core the desired channels that they need. Drilling techniques typically employ water flushing, creating a concrete slurry that can be vacuumed and contained, leaving little to no mess! The drilling process is fast, and precise, generating minimal dust and virtually no vibration, ensuring a smooth operation for both the operative and the structure.
Specialised coring sizes can be arranged with a variety of depths, so contact us for any specific questions on your diamond drilling needs.
We core precise openings and channels straight through live airfield slabs, as we did on a recent apron at Stansted. Water flushing captures the spoil as a slurry we vacuum and contain, leaving little to no mess, with minimal dust and virtually no vibration. In our experience, diamond coring works far better than percussive breaking on a live apron because it protects the fuel mains, drainage and lighting buried beneath the slab.
Committed to safety and professionalism, our team adheres to stringent industry standards to ensure the protection of personnel, property, and the environment.
Trust Shepherd & Sons to be your partner in achieving success, reliability, and excellence in concrete cutting.
