Our Accreditations and Trade Body Membership

Three things are worth checking before a specialist surfacing contractor sets foot on your site: whether they have passed a recognised health and safety assessment, whether they belong to the trade body for the work they are doing, and whether the company you are contracting with is the company doing the work. Here is where we stand on all three.

We are CHAS accredited. CHAS, now part of Veriforce, is one of the founding members of Safety Schemes in Procurement, and accreditation means an independent assessment of health and safety policy, competence and track record rather than a self-declaration. Most public sector and Tier 1 procurement treats it as a threshold rather than an advantage.

We are SafeContractor approved. It covers similar ground to CHAS through a different assessor, and a great many principal contractors and facilities managers ask for one or the other by name. Holding both means we are not the reason a site induction stalls.

We are members of the Extruded Sealant Association, the trade body for the joint sealing side of what we do. ESA is worth more than a logo on this work: it maintains a Code of Practice for sealant installation, and it is the reason sample-and-test records exist on our high performance sealing jobs. If you are specifying joint sealing, membership of the relevant trade body is a better competence signal than a general safety accreditation, because it is specific to the trade.

Note for the avoidance of confusion: ESA here is the Extruded Sealant Association. It is not the Environmental Services Association, a different organisation that shares the initials.

We are not going to list accreditations we do not hold. If a specification calls for something not on this page, ask us and we will tell you plainly whether we have it, can obtain it, or would be the wrong contractor for that job.
