Surfacing Contractors in Kent
Kent is home. We work from Little Westerhill Farm on Westerhill Road in Linton, a few minutes south of Maidstone. That is where the plant lives and where a crew starts the day. Everything else on this page follows from that: we are not mobilising into the county, we are already in it, and most of Kent is inside an hour.
What we do here
All ten services, but the county's own geography weights them. Joint sealing and concrete cutting on the concrete carriageways of the M20 and M2. Diamond drilling and coring on bridge structures, gantry foundations and port hardstanding. Line marking on the trunk network, at the airfields and across commercial car parks. Crack chasing, overbanding and surface repairs on everything that has been down long enough to need them.
The Channel corridor sets the programme
Everything east of Maidstone runs on the Channel ports, and when the crossings back up the road network changes shape. Operation Brock puts a moveable contraflow on the M20 between junctions 8 and 9, and Dover TAP queues freight in the nearside lane of the coastbound A20. Both were in force again in July 2026. For work that needs a closed lane, a dry surface and enough time for material to cure, that is a scheduling risk rather than background detail, and it is why we build float into Kent highway programmes.
There is relief coming. Kent County Council secured £20 million from the Department for Transport in July 2026 for the Dover Border Access Improvement Project, reconfiguring the border area inside the Eastern Docks to add processing booths and queuing for more than 500 lorries, with the aim of cutting the frequency and duration of Brock and TAP by up to 80%.
Ports, airfields and the estuary
The Port of Dover is the busiest roll-on roll-off ferry port in the country. Up the estuary, Sheerness and Chatham form Peel Ports' London Medway cluster, with seven deep-water berths at Sheerness alone and around 1.3 million tonnes of timber a year alongside automotive, steel and project cargo. Those are heavily point-loaded surfaces in a salt-laden atmosphere, which changes what we expect to find in a slab and how the reinstatement around it is detailed.
Inland the county is now a construction site in its own right: the Lower Thames Crossing, the A122, began early construction in March 2026 and runs from the A2 near Gravesend under the Thames into Essex.
Towns and further reading
Concrete cutting in Maidstone and line marking contractors in Kent go into more detail. We have also written at length about the county's work in our journal: concrete cutting contractors in Kent, diamond drilling contractors in Kent, joint sealing contractors in Kent, floor sawing services in Kent and port concrete cutting in Kent.
