Shepherd & Sons delivers reliable ports sector services built to withstand heavy-duty, high-traffic environments. Our team provides precise line marking to ensure safe navigation across port facilities, alongside expert concrete cutting and diamond drilling for efficient infrastructure works.

We also carry out joint sealing, crack chasing, and overbanding to protect surfaces from water ingress and structural wear. For port environments, we specialise in Sikaflex one-part cold applied joint sealing, a durable, flexible polyurethane system ideally suited to the demands of dockside concrete, sea walls, and heavy-load hardstanding. Our pavement repair solutions are designed to restore strength and extend the lifespan of hardstanding areas.

We are based at Little Westerhill Farm near Maidstone in Kent, within reach of the Medway ports, Dover, Sheerness and the Thames Estuary terminals on both banks. Port pavements carry point loads nothing else does and sit in a salt-laden atmosphere, which changes both what we expect to find inside a slab and how the reinstatement around it is detailed. Kent, London, Sussex, Essex and the wider South East are covered from our own yard, and longer programmes are mobilised UK wide.
