High Performance Joint Sealing

High performance joint sealing is a specialist system used to create a structural bond between asphalt and concrete surfaces, rather than a standard flexible surface seal. The material is thicker and wider than conventional joint sealants, forming a solid, load-bearing joint capable of withstanding significant traffic and environmental stress.

This system is primarily specified for airports, RAF bases, and bridge joints where standard sealants are not sufficient. Bridge joints in particular involve additional civil engineering considerations including drainage design and structural movement, making the correct material selection critical.

Key benefits:

  • Structural bond: joins asphalt and concrete surfaces under load
  • Thicker, wider application than standard joint sealants
  • Specified for airports, RAF bases, and heavy infrastructure
  • Withstands high traffic volumes and extreme temperature variation
  • Applied using specialist high-performance boiler equipment

Applications: Airport pavements, RAF bases, bridge expansion joints, heavy-load structural joints.
